Home!

Whew!  Why are travel days so hard???  In our case, we were up about 6 am for a leaving-the-apartment time of 11 am.  Definitely more than enough time to get repacked and ready to go.  The problem, though, was that when we had originally made the  Volaris  reservations, we were booked on their early afternoon flight. However, about 2 months ago, we were informed that our flight had been changed, and we were now going to be leaving at 5:31 pm … and we still had to be out of our apartment at 11 (which is the usual time for vacating most rentals or hotels).  This really complicated things, as this put us back in Tijuana and the  CBX  around 8 pm, meaning there was absolutely no way we could even start the drive back to Tucson, which had been the original idea.  So … book another hotel night in San Diego.    We debated going somewhere for lunch to kill some of the time, but as none of us wa...

A Truly Incredible Day!

Hola!   We were up early – surprise!  As at least one of us (me…) was very excited.  Unfortunately, as it was so early, I couldn’t really tell what kind of sky it was.  Sunday morning we had awoken to something called “shallow FOG” for Heaven’s sake, and that we did NOT want to happen!  However, as it got lighter, we saw that there was no fog – shallow or otherwise – and there was a goodly amount of blue mixed in with wispy clouds. Possibly good viewing weather???  But you know how sometimes time can literally CRAWL?  Well, that was yesterday morning as we were waiting for 9:51 am and the first “bite” of the moon starting on its journey across the sun.  It took FOREVER!  I was too excited to read, so spent some of the time playing computer games, just to have something to DO … UGH!!!     The great thing, though, was that we had a view of the sun from both of our bedrooms!  ...

WOW!!

Much love, m xxx

A Somewhat Sunny Sunday!

Hola!   We actually slept in a bit this morning – which for R and I meant somewhere about 6 am, although Debby may have been up earlier.  (May I say now how nice it is to travel with someone on the same schedule??  We “early to bed/early to rise” types do need to stick together!)   As we had had SO much to eat yesterday – two HUGE buffets at Roy’s, none of us was particularly hungry, so no one was particularly interested in going out for breakfast.  Instead, Debby and I figured we would walk down to the corner  OXXO  store and see if they had anything interesting and make do.  Well, we walked over about 8, and turns out, this particular  OXXO  wasn’t open until 9 … but again, as we weren’t in any particular rush, we just ambled back and waited for a bit in the apartment.  About quarter after 9 we tried again, and this time, it was open.  And, between the  OXXO  and the  Kiosko  ...
